As a keen 6M DX´er, I originally wrote this web site as a convenient way to look-up data relevant to my
DX activities. From the initial listing of countries worked on 6M, it has grown as my (and others !) needs dictate. The sites progression has seen the inclusion
of more personal data including JT6M Initials and 4M Countries worked.
More 4M and 6M information is now available including 4M and 6M
beacon lists, OIRT and Band 1 TV QRG listings. A revised
Log Search is included for both 4M and 6M activity
My interest in radio and Amateur Radio began at the age of 13 using various radios including a Ex.Army No.19 set which I
modified and used to swl on 80M and 40M. Later I built superhet and double superhet receivers and listened to all Amateur bands up to and including 10M with simple
long wire antennas. |

| Short Biography |
I was first licenced in 1979 with the call G8TGM. My main interest was 2M Dxing. Using Band 1 TV to help identify
possible ES opening, 6M became an interest although at the time there were no 6M licences available in the UK. I quite often heard ZB and 5B 6M beacons during the
summer months. In 1985 I successfully passed my 12 WPM Morse test and became G0CHE. |
| After a 15 year break I became qrv again in June 2002 and band of choice was
6M which is the primary band used here in IO90PS. I am qrv also on
4M and sometimes on 2M and 70cm but only with vertical antenna. There is no
HF operation from this QTH at present. |
My current radio for
6M is an IC 7000 and on 4M I use an Icom IC-756 PRO plus Spectrum Communications Transverter TRC10-4sL. Since 28 June 2010 my 6M antenna is
a 6M6LFA designed by G0KSC and on 4M a YU7EF designed
5 ele yagi.
One of my interests on 6M and 4M is using JT6M mode via meteor scatter or other propagation modes. QSO's can take place at almost any time regardless of
solar cycle position or the absence of E skip. The 4M and 6M bands are not as dead as you may think !
